The reason why I always say Trump needs to be hit with "meaningful consequences" that reduce his ability to do crimes is because we have seen so many "paper consequences" that he can just walk off with no penalty. Like today. Nothing has happened to him to stop him from launching another Jan 6 in two weeks or so.

I agree, I like to see them nail him on whatever is the easiest charge they think they can get a conviction on and lock him up. After Trump is behind bars, they can take their sweet time making the perfect case for more serious charges.

That would be the rational way to approach it and yet it is not done.
