TIL that WB0RLJ Jim posts videos of his POTA activations keyed by time, so you can find your call in his video description with a link straight to the time in the video. Very cool!
I also read his QRZ page and discovered that I did something that he dislikes. I've heard other ops say that if someone gives a partial call, you should reply with your sign twice to cut down on back-and-forth, and now I know that he'd rather not. Oh well.
But now I know that when I work him, I can listen to what my signal sounded like to him. I'm satisfied with what I heard of my signal from my 5W QMX on a low sloper random wire in the woods of North Carolina to Nebraska, even if I'm embarrassed by my operating skills (or lack thereof). I'm getting better!

Jim Vaughan (WB0RLJ)Nothing fancy. Just video logs of my Parks on the Air (POTA) and World Wide Flora & Fauna (WWFF) dual activations. Some contesting video logs thrown in, too. Uncut, so you get to see all of my mistakes, beginning to end! 🙂 I primarily operate using only Morse code (CW). These videos are useful for: - CW decoding practice under varying conditions and differing speeds. - Hearing many different CW sending styles, or "fists." - Seeing and hearing various transceivers in operation. - Learning the typical POTA/WWFF exchanges. If we've had a recent QSO, these videos are useful for: - Confirming the successful completion of our QSO(s). - Determining what went wrong if you're not in my log. - Verifying QSO time, date and signal reports exchanged. - Listening to your received signal quality. Please include your callsign with any comments that you leave! Visit my QRZ.com page at: https://www.qrz.com/db/WB0RLJ #hamradio #morsecode #cw #parksontheair #woldwideflouraandfauna
