Happy birthday to #biologist Louis Pasteur (1822-1895)! Though his work was extensive in a variety of fields, I chose to depict him as I see him; a man who saw bacteria in his environment and developed a means of protecting people from this ambient menace. The image is based on a photograph of Pasteur and the background, of course depicts various morphologies of #bacteria. The #lino block print is in indigo and turquoise #thermochromic ink.

QUOTE OF THE DAY
“When we imagine futures, we imagine dystopias. It would be nice to imagine a future where things got better.”
Biologist Chris Sandom, humanities researcher Jo Waldon and artist Daniel Locke wrote and illustrated a 29-page comic, Dark Clouds, Bright Skies, envisioning what they hope a sustainable future could look like, in just 24 hours. (Comic | Leisurely scroll)
