I am so interested in whether knitting techniques that make 3D shapes can be used to help understand protein folding.
Knitting using continuous strings to make these complex shapes, and it has to do with things like tension and materials, and I see this can have an analogy with the primary, secondary, and tertiary structures.
can we use similar strategies to engineer protein shapes from sequence?

I have finished the temperature blanket panel for 2025! This is a decade-long project. Each stripe represents the local daily high temperature in farenheit: red is 90s, orange is 80s, yellow is 70s, and so on.
To capture the entire winter and summer seasons, the first bottom row actually starts on November 1st of the previous year, and the numbers are placed on January 1st of the labeled year, and it continues up from there.
Another quilt complete! This makes number 8 for 2026.
This is Peacock Garden, a kit I bought a few years ago, and finally got around to putting it together. The top was super simple and quick, but it came out a bit smaller than I wanted it, so I added those side borders.
