I'm starting to understand what irks me with stargåte.
Typical episode structure:
crisis, side stuff, crisis, crisis, side stuff, crisis, Crisis, CRISIS, fix, end credits.
Most of the time there's a bunch of side stuff that is just left unresolved. Oh, it will probably get mentioned couple episodes later, but still..
Okay, stargåte has its fair share of stupid writing, but usually they manage to cover it somehow. However. This episode.
You have a character who knows 39 languages including ancient latin and egyptian and whatever. He gets captured by an alien. Tries to communicate with it.
ONLY IN ENGLISH.
Sheesh.
