We're already at the penultimate talk at #GRCdevbio23, hearing from @MLAgerholm_ from the @LabBrickman at @reNEW_Global.
Collectively, the Brickman lab aims to elucidate transcriptional mechanisms of lineage specification in the early embryo.
The most interesting things about the hallucinated references #ChatGPT "found" were:
1) All the journals were legitimate
2) The volumes and issues listed were consistent with what the journals had published in the year cited
3) The journals cited could plausibly have published articles on the topics suggested by the imagined titles.
Spotting the fakes, then, requires that you dive all the way to the journal issues.
