I plan to keep the T450 around. I'll actually clean it up by getting rid of most things on it so that I can use it for parallel tasks that I don't need to worry about much. I've had it for nearly 10 years now. I've never had to get it serviced. That 32 GB of ram I put in it has been a kind of blessing. It still has a removable battery. Too bad the new one doesn't. Keeping it charged to 80% hasn't diminished its capacity.
