There seem to be two types of nerds. Those who want to deconstruct everything to understand the very core of the technology they are using, and those that vibe and aren't inherently interested in how anything functions and with what consequences.
The first type are the true geeks, the second are zealots waiting for someone to give them all the answers.
Sadly it's the second type that are celebrated as being part of the way forward.
Had the 'pleasure' to watch a vibe coder do a live session on #agenticAI.
What shocked me wasn't (only) the overuse of anthropomorphic language, but mostly the eagerness to give away control.
This dude was talking like a salesman about how many different skills he could direct with just a single prompt, but in reality it's the belief that the technology knows best while still thinking he is the expert.
When it didn't work he even tried to 'debug' by asking the LLM what went wrong.
