I heard a lot of talk about the negative impacts #chatgpt and other AI/ML tools can have in the classroom. I think we should instead focus on the positive. We have incredibly powerful new tools and we should integrate them into our teaching. In my #chemistry #retrosynthesis course this week, I showed the use of chatgpt (not useful yet) and of #IBMRXN. Not as good as a chemist yet, but it has improved a lot in the last 3 years. Showing students how to use it is the way to go, not ban it.
