So I finally got the O2 up and running. I finished the OS install yesterday but for some reason it would only boot into the XDM login screen then nothing. I kept thinking I'd missed some essentail packages so install, reboot, install, reboot. Then on a whim I tried a different monitor! Worked perfectly! Dammnation. How far has XWindows come since then!

#globaltalk people printing to ImageWriters: beware the Ides of #Marcintosh and heed my advice: if you're using MacPalette II, do not switch printers to queue up more than one additional job.
This is a cautionary tale of how I accidentally murdered 's ImageWriter II not once, but twice. His printer is in the Wafflenet Zone - the last one alphabetically to have a real ImageWriter (as of this moment).
Microspot's background print job files store the document settings like color and paper feed, but they do NOT not remember the chosen printer; rather, they send the job to the most recent active printer from Chooser.
If you queue up 16 jobs like I did, selecting a different printer in between, it will send the next job to the same (last) printer over and over.
The background queue would work if you were sending lots of jobs to the same printer.
If you must switch printers, do not queue up more than ONE additional job. And don't mix and match LaserWriter jobs with ImageWriter jobs.
