Emma Fourreau, a French left-wing politician, decided to exploit the suffering of the Cuban population for her own political gain. There is no 'blockade' of Cuba. According to data from the OEC, Cuba trades with more than 100 countries. However, an economic embargo exists due to Fidel Castro's confiscation of all private American properties after 1959, for which no compensation was ever paid.
