The motorcycle scenes in #TheKissingBooth were filmed on the R44 between Gordons Bay and Rooiels east of Cape Town, a road I worked on when it was reconstructed in 1998. https://maps.app.goo.gl/N2PEUR9BMPwDyA4u7
The gabion walls and rock barrier walls were built using labor-based construction methods with workers from the local community compensated for how much work they did. So per metre of ditch dug, per gabion basket filled, etc. They intentionally employed many women to do the work, not just men.
