And now my thoughts on why this is so neat. That clathrate layer insulates. Changes thermal profile through crust.

So now it's warmer more shallow. So there's MORE volume in the #DeepIce of #Titan that might be habitable.

Maybe don't need to drill so deep to get to good habitats?

Remember, much easier to land on Titan. We already 1 for 1 on that world!!!

Here is a 30-minute detailed presentation/short course on the astrobiology of icy microhabitats like we might find when we explore the Ocean Worlds (Europa, Enceladus, Titan, etc.)

This was part of a Keck Institute of Space Studies (KISS) workshop where we gathered some researchers to try to figure out the technical challenges of targeting microhabitats during planetary exploration.
