'The day after announcing that meals would be free (but donations welcomed), front-of-house manager Darla Evanosky expected the dining room to remain as quiet as it had been recently. Instead, she had to call in extra staff as customers lined up for tables. Some had come for a free meal; others were there to pay double or triple their tab.
'“It was literally one for one,” Evanosky said. “Someone would get three things and ask for it free, and the next person would be like, ‘Here’s $100.’”'
