From the department of numbers pulled out of my arse, I would guess that the fossil fuel industry's campaign of denial and lies for the last checks notes 44 years since they knew the science themselves will kill between 100m and 1b poor people over the next 50 years.

Moral reciprocity means that if a billionaire can make a decision that kills a hundred, to make $1M, a thousandaire could kill that billionaire for just a penny.
