Living in the UK, and playing RPGs since the mid-1980s, starting with red box D&D. Since enjoyed varieties of GURPS, Amber, Mage the Ascension, Nobilis, Ars Magica, Fate, Fiasco, and more. Tastes now lean towards narrative and lightweight over simulation and rule complexity. Current "to try" list includes Powered By The Apocalypse, Forged In The Dark, and Gumshoe.

A big part of the lines and veils ritual, or the X-card, is to try and make sure there is zero friction in bringing stuff up.
There's a lot of social pressure to push through things, to not be the one that derails a collective exercise.
Simply saying "bring it up if something bothers you" doesn't do that: it's like your boss telling you they want honest feedback. Sorry, boss, you've got to do more than that to earn my trust.
