#Squirrel question for the hive mind;
My wife watched a squirrel carry a rock as big as his/her head up onto our roof. She was concerned that they were building a redoubt so that they'd have a position to fall back into if they failed in their initial attempt to take over the yard*. Today I was up on the room cleaning out gutters and crap that has accumulated up there and, yes, there were rocks, lots or rocks, at least a few dozen. Mostly white/gray granite from our little ornamental strip next to the house but some that I couldn't identify. They had not created any dry-stone structures fortunately but, yeah, what's up with that squirrels?
Any ideas?
