One day I'll pull it off, but not yet. Doesn't stop me trying though.
Probably my most ambitious attempt at new structure was my third book, which I had envisioned as a literary version of a Japanese puzzle visual novel, with twisting timelines and overlapping sequences, and it was a complete mess. I threw half of it out, and changed the identity of the villain.
Self-publishing/creating art as a side business can be a grind. Can you downscale your creator business to avoid burnout?
Is there a way to strip your small business requirements to their 'good enough requirements?
Do you know what your goals are?
Mine were - publish books not just on Amazon, but using a distributor rather than every other shopfront directly; and reduced social media effort. Still working this stuff out!
