It’s not that I don’t want to meet you
my new forged little man
It’s just that I’m still mourning
all those past yous
you’ve now outgrown
that I was still awfully fond of.

I wish the likes of Mackenzie Scott, Chuck Feeney, Dolly Parton, & Melinda French Gates were better known and recognized for making the decision not to pursue increasing their wealth.

It's sad that society idolizes people who receive the proceeds of a broken system, but not those who are in a position to do so and explicitly reject that opportunity for the sake of other people.
