The scientific illustrator, Quentell came to the US after WWII* When we think about the "brain drain" from Europe caused by the rise of the Nazis we often focus on the big names who came to the US, but there were so many people in the arts and sciences who had to flee. And America was richer for all of their work.
Great analytical and creative minds will always flee if they are not destroyed by such regimes.
There is already talk of "brain drain" in TX and FL. Could be the whole country soon.
