As of today, in an increasingly facist Britain, refugees' status will become temporary and subject to review every 30 months for all adults claming asylum

Shameful

i’m sure that won’t be expensive for the government

and delay further processing

What this actually achieves is creating an underclass of non-citizens, that can at any time be threatened with losing their status and deported to what ever war zone they escaped from.

On the practical level it will lead to dickheads getting a boners from sadistically oppressing these people, forcing them to accept whatever way they want to break the law with them.

Reminiscent of the treatment of H1b work visa holders across the Pond, who are deported within 30(?) days if they decide to leave the job that sponsored the visa and can't find another sponsor in time.

Astonishing to see under an ostensibly Labour government.

Precarity is a wonderful tool for the 1%

1. Get an underpaid underground economy from migrant labor. It suppresses all wages as a consequence.
2. Ensures prospective new citizens never gain a foothold & put down roots.
3. "Have not, have yacht" economic policy bolsters white supremacy

This is the perfect way to create the conditions of immiseration to kneecap democracy
