i think i upset a kernel developer by accusing them of vibe coding when they swear they've "only" had it generate tests and things.

also mastodon grasses on you if you paste a link to someone's post, not just if you quote toot

let's pretend for a moment that generating tests is somehow not really vibe coding.

given the way people start at one and end up at the other, how long should you trust the assertion that it hasn't been vibe coded?

i mean let's be real, the moment you see claude's been in a repo you're going to assume the worst.

haven't you heard? it's fine as long as it's only on a commit trailer and not on the repo page.

smh you'll be talking about essex next

Just saw that today. I found a program that looked really nice and potentially could do so much of what I wanted, then clicked on the github link.

First one in the list of submitters: Claude.

It has no future, so what's the point in getting attached to it now? But darn, it seemed so potentially good too.

Maybe after it makes a mess of everything and they have to start all over from scratch to fix it it will be worth looking at again then. Or it may die. Honestly it's probably more likely to die at that point. Oh well. No point in getting attached now.

it's happened a few times to me recently. i have claude blocked so it shows a box at the top and then you have to expand it to see that it's claude.

I want to do that, but I closed my Github account back when hitting delete still had a tiny chance that they might actually delete my data and I'm sure not signing back up now even for that.

certainly the longer time goes on, the more i feel inclined to switch all my existing projects over to codeberg rather than just the new ones.
