I thought it already had?

- I wonder how easy it'll be to get or join the "international" version of the app.

this raises so many questions and answers almost none

The Chinese version of TikTok has always been separate. The version of TikTok we use in the US is the same version all other countries in the world use, so there’s not a Chinese version and a US version, there’s a Chinese domestic version and an international/global version.

So the question is, does this lead to three versions (Chinese, US, rest of world), or two, but where the US takes over the global/international version that everyone but China uses?

This article doesn’t even distinguish. It makes the situation more muddy than it was before I read it.

I've been blocking pro-Trump bots on TikTok for months, using AI-generated slogans and fake images. I've blocked at least 17 users, along the lines of "let's see who gets tired first... I'll ban you all anyway."
