After two years, yesterday I stepped down as PTA head at my kids’ school. Helping run events and meetings matters, but the thing I’m most proud of was raising $25,000 to help two Afghan girls move to the UK and access the free, high-quality education they were denied at home.

All that came from the Swift community: I ran coding workshops where all ticket income went to charity, and you awesome people supported them. Thank you 🙇‍♂️ Learning Swift is great, but I hope we always remember to use what we have to help as many as we can for as long as we can.

It briefly made me reflect on the Angry Internet Men who love saying I'm virtue signaling.

Me: raises money for Afghan girls

Angry Internet Men: Virtue signaling!

Me: runs events with all profit donated to charity

AIM: vIrTuE sIgNaLiNg

Me: houses Ukraine refugees

Ultimately I think maybe it comes down to a saying that is one of the most universally applicable things I've heard: liars think everyone else is lying, and cheaters think everyone else is cheating. In this case, mean-spirited people think everyone else is mean-spirited 🤷‍♂️

I hope you'll forgive me for using this chance to link to another fundraiser 😅 My kids, dogs, and I are walking 21 miles to raise money for a charity helping folks experiencing homelessness or escaping domestic abuse. Can you help us reach $10,000? 👀 justgiving.com/page/circuit-of

Simple, powerful, and true.

100% usually people that just cannot believe other people would do good things because they're just actually good, are themselves some sort of problem.

the only thing I would add to that, and sadly it is something I find myself frequently pointing out, is:
- liars lie about lying

That’s a powerful way to put words to our predicament. Thank you sir!

it’s always easier to tear something down than to build something up. Small people see greatness they can’t hope to achieve and react the only way they know. For what it’s worth many people appreciate the work that you do. My only complaint is that your YouTube channel spends too much time on computer related content when it’s clearly supposed to be all about Two Good Boys and their quest for treats. More dogs please 🤩
