"Liquid Glass elevates your content" is a lie, and this article perfectly explains and illustrates why that is.

I find screenshots of macOS ~15 years ago quite startling now. It’s easy to forget just how good it was.

in any given release one can complain about what was lost and sound like a grumpy old man, but if you look back 15 years it’s clear as day how they’ve been destroying the usability and clarity of everything.

Totally. Intellectually I have been aware the whole time that this has been happening, but actually installing Mavericks on my Late 2013 MacBook Pro a few months ago and clicking around, I had almost a visceral reaction to how clear, readable and obvious everything felt. Returning to a present-day Mac OS felt like someone put a grey veil in front of the screen.

That liquid glass looks like irony. 🙂

I recently had to fire up a dormant 2009 Mac mini, b/c it is the only machine with a disc burner remaining in the household. It was shocking to see what we lost. Shocking.

iWork '09 Pages was so incredibly good. I even used it for layout work printed on an Indigo.
