I do have one funny csun story, about Stevie wonder., I didn't meet him, or anything, but he was here, and I was probably like 30 feet away from him.

so for one thing, we had a chat group to coordinate where folks would meet up and stuff. Some people were 100% using it to stalk him. " "oh he's at Booth 10!" "he just moved to booth 15!" Silliness of that nature. But also, he showed up at the vespero after party, for reasons I am not privy to. I happen to be there, because I was hungry and wanting a drink. Unfortunately for me there was no food, but there was drink! Also unfortunately for me, there were no mixed drinks either, just beer and wine. Furthermore, in an apparent departure from last year, they were using drink tickets. I hypothesized this was due to them being acquired by private equity, a fact I only just learned three days ago! How funny is that? Anyway, every person I said this to accepted this as the gospel truth.

But I digress; this story is not about vespero, is it about CV wonder! So he starts talking, you know, about how amazing it is to see all the potential of these devices, how people will be able to use them to create new things, stuff of that nature. Everyone was listening with rap detention - except me, and the person who was enthusiastically telling me about the promise of generative AI. Some of the folksyy4o who were listening, though, did not seem that impressed. I heard a few comments like, " what is he, running for office? " so a bit later I got to talking with some of those people, and they mentioned the guy who was talking. " "I don't know what he was talking about, who is that guy?" I told them that was Stevie wonder. They did not believe me and thought I was joking. I told him I wasn't and they suddenly got upset that they missed him.

Steevie Wunder is an interesting fellow. Still find it's weird that a grown man wants to be called Steevie, but anyway. Sure, great singer, but that's pretty much as far as I'll go. I mean, I'd have a beer with him, but certainly wouldn't put him on a pedestal.

I've never been a huge fan of his. I like a few songs here and there. But he just doesn't do it for me. And that doesn't have anything to do with the fact that he's blind. His voice sometimes annoys me.

yeah he's fine and everything but not my style. . It's impressive what he's been able to accomplish for sure. But also, I've never really seen him give back to the community? If I ever did meet him I just want to ask him whatDAW he uses so I can watch him flounder to explain the technology that he doesn't use, because he has people for that.

Yeah, I wondered about that too.

From the stories I hear, he's one of the kindest people in the biz. He actually plays with and enjoys a lot of tech. That's why he shows up at almost every CSUN. He used to have a good relationship with Ted back in the Hunter Joyce days.
