So an update! First of all, we're NOT closing. Second, tho, we're... kinda close to it. tl;dr: Our cashflow is really bad and we would really appreciate y'all coming by in the next week and maybe do some early holiday shopping?
Longer version in thread.
At this point we have to admit that our business model is financially unsustainable in this current economy. Y'all have been AMAZINGLY supportive but to be completely honest we're still not near what we need to sustain Outsider in its current form (see below for clarification) because everyone's suffering from waves at everything around the world.
We were able to hold out for a couple more months than expected because, well, y'all gave us so much support in August and September and we were able to pay off debts and restock for the holidays and keep everyone paid. But we moved back to losing money in October and, well, as much as exploding on the internet was great financially relying on that just isn't great. It's also not sustainable for us as people.
* - To be clear: what we need isn't like billions of dollars, what we need is 2021 level sales, which is what we were hoping for when we formed this workers coop, and our business model is literally "pay everyone working at Outsider a fair living wage", not like buy everyone a 5 ft tall Pokemon plushie and a yacht every month.
