I know a lot of people like having no limits. But just try this: Next time, rather than turn every available variable up to maximum unusual, turn up just one or two. Then explore the implications of the contrast.

I definitely find that when playing #ttrpg's solo using #MythicGME, that having the constraints of rolling on action and meaning tables to generate the story leads to way more interesting outcomes for me than not having those prompts! I also find myself giggling at the way my brain often connects the two words rolled to what's happening in the story. Bridled creativity has some definite advantages over unbridled in #solorpg play for sure!

In my experience this is a pretty common result in music too, artificially limiting yourself is so helpful, seems like humans just really can't deal well with nearly infinite possibilities!

For me, it's often best to have only very loose boundaries. Too tight, and I chafe. None at all, and I can find that any apparent points of reference I'm trying to work from are illusory.
